Rupali was born in a Hindu Bengali family in Kolkata. Her father is a well-known director Anil Ganguly. Since her father belongs to the same industry, she was trained in acting since childhood. She loved to participate in dancing since childhood, so she was trained in this activity as well. Rupali’s brother Vijay Ganguly has also made a career in acting.
After completing school, the actress completed her further studies in hotel management.
The actress made her acting debut at the age of seven in the film Saaheb as a child actress (1985), followed by an award-winning performance in one of her father’s films, Balidan (1990). She has also been a part of reality shows like Zara Nachke Dikha, Bigg Boss (2006), and Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Rupali Ganguly has lent her voice to the animated film Dashavatar. Then she established an advertising agency in Mumbai in the year 2000. She also play role in ‘Do Aankhen Barah Haath’ ‘Mera Yaar Mera Dushman, Angara. In 2002, she was appreciated for her role in the TV show Sukanya and then went on to play various roles in various series.
After 2013, she took a break from her acting career. When she got the offer of the lead actor for Anupama in 2020, she was scared. Because she felt that the break of so many years could bring hindrance in acting. But she got a different identity from this show, every day she rules millions of hearts.
Rupali Ganguly married her long-time boyfriend Ashwin K Verma on 6 February 2013. In 2015 the couple was blessed with a baby boy.
