The Lion King Enters 500 USD Million Worldwide – Courtesy to an overwhelming Weekend
It was a massive weekend collection at Box office for the film The Lion King not just in India but all across the world. The film has bagged so far a collection of 500 Million USD, which was a big milestone to achieve within a week of its release. In terms of India Rupees, the film has bagged so far 3179 Crores at the box office in the first weekend itself, which is not just huge but exorbitant.
If you check the collection at the home market, which is in the US, it came to a collection of 191.9 Million USD (1323 Crores), while the remaining 269 USD was given by the international market. The highest in the overseas collection was in China with the collection reaching 20.8 Million USD, which is followed by the UK with collection 19.9 USD. The others to follow in the race include France with 19.6 USD million, Mexico 18.7 USD million, Brazil 17.9 million USD, South Korea 17.7 million USD, Australia 17.1 million USD, Russia 16.7 million USD, Germany USD 12.3 million and India USD 9.4 million.
The other nations to join this race include Spain and Netherlands with collections as 8.4 million USD and 6 million USD. However, the film is yet to hit the screens of Hong Kong as it would be hitting on July 25 and similarly in Japan and Italy on August 9 and August 21 respectively. With a huge pace of collection for the film, The Lion King is all set to cross the previous film – Aladin by Disney which ended up fetching 989.1 Million USD, which was around 6700 Cr in INR.
