The Lion King 1st Weekend Box Office Collection

the lion king box office

For the B Town, it was a set back to see its film releasing this Friday had given all-time low collection at the box office. Both the films of Jimmy Shergil have performed poor at the box office. However, this all has happened with the advent of a Hollywood movie – The Lion King, which is a remake of an animated cult released way back in 1994. With a decent start on Friday, the film was able to score a good collection of 19.15 Crores on the second day, which seemed to rise on the first Sunday.

The Sunday, therefore, witnessed a good surge with the collection reaching a whopping 22.5 Crores at the Box office. This has alarmingly escalated the first-weekend collection. As per reports, the first-weekend box office collection for The Lion King went to score around 54.5 Crores, which is huge for any film like this in India. All thanks to Shah Rukh Khan and his son who have given the voice for the Lion King and the young lion Simba respectively.

This has already added a decent buzz in the media that helped the film to prosper at the box office. The film directed by Jon Favreau happens to be the remake of 1994 Disney classic of the same title, while it remains the photo-realistic, and computer-generated animation, which brings back the adventures of Simba on the silver screen. The film was released in India in not less than 2140 screens in languages like Hindi, English along with Tamil and Telugu languages. Stay tuned to know more about this film and others only with us.
