A24 has dropped in the first trailer for The Lighthouse, starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as the late 19th-century lighthouse keepers. Robert Eggers’ much anticipated follow-up of the 2015 indie horror hit, The Witch has premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section at Cannes 2019. It has already caused a stream of storm at the festival and was even known to be one of the hot-ticket premieres.
Co-written by Eggers and his brother, Max, this nautical horror-fantasy film was shot on black-and-white 35mm film. The trailer released depicts the weathered duo of mariners keeping the light on a remote Maine island that has been isolated from the rest of the world that gradually descend into madness. The story of the film takes the audience onto a roller coaster ride of thrill and spine shrilling moves and turns as well. The film is known to already create space in the hearts of its audiences however; the release seems to be much awaited. Book you space for the sprinting film as it gets to hit the silver screen.
The film will be hitting the theatres on October 18.
First poster of the film was initially released and now the trailer release has created a lot of excitement among the audiences. The trailer seems to showcase of a lot of exciting side of the film casing the prime duo in complete action.
The Lighthouse will get a limited release in Los Angeles and New York theatres on 18 October.
