This Friday we have two films releasing, which certainly include The Accidental Prime Minister. Ever since the trailer of the film starring Anupam Kher was released in the media, it invited too many criticisms from the Congress Party for showcasing the Gandhi family in a particular manner. The party workers went to an extent to knock the doors of Delhi High Court. However, the court dismissed the allegation against the makers and cleared the hurdle to get a smooth this Friday. As we know the film is clashing with Uri – The Surgical Strike, it is likely to be affected in terms of box office collection. However, the Hindi belt is expected to remain unaffected for TAPM with the advent of Uri.
The experts are calling it to be a big battle, but when we compare the pre-release buzz of Uri with TAPM, it is the former that seems to score more points on the latter. Thanks to the action and thrill the film has, while the debutant director film TAPM seems to be politically motivated and rightly released film especially when we have the Lok Sabha Elections this year in May. The film is all about a premier family that surrounds too much of political buzz around. Interestingly, Anupam Kher has his origin from the right wing and hs playing the character of Dr. Singh, the former PM of India raises many concerns.
So considering all the buzz of the film and the words of the trade pundits and experts, the film The Accidental Prime Minister is likely to have a faded business at box office. The first-day box office collection for The Accidental Prime Minister will be around 3 to 4 crores. Much would depend upon the word of mouth buzz in the media for the film. The trade experts are optimistic about the positive vibes for the film that will snowball the box office collection on the first weekend. Let’s see how things move in the coming days, but at the moment The Accidental Prime Minister is overshadowed by the other film – Uri The Surgical Strike.
