Today, we had two films releasing this Friday and one included Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The Ajay Devgn & Saif Ali Khan are back after several years for an epic face-off. The period drama is based on the battle of Kondhana, which was led by Tanaji Malusare. The topic has remained an interesting subject to make a film and attract the audience. As expected, the film did a decent opening right from the morning to the evening and the late-night shows.
The morning occupancy was not less than 25 to 40 per cent in the morning and first show, also the advance booking went on a full swing for the moving giving a decent count for the film. The evening shows soared as expected to get a good occupancy both at the single screens and Multiplexes as well. People turned in good numbers to catch the film with occupancy reaching from 80 to 100 per cent.
With such an occupancy report, one can expect a good surge of collection. As per reports, the first-day box office collection for Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior reached around 9.5 Crores, which is a decent amount for the makers. Interestingly, the film did face some amount of competition from the other big film – Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone, which also had a good buzz in the media. The weekend collection for the period drama is expected to around 30 to 35 crores for sure. Well, let’s see how things would move. But at the moment things seemed rosy for the movie.
