Dunki Day 2 Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Sees Significant Decline with Prabhas’ Salaar Release, Expected to Surpass Rs 14 Crore Mark

After consecutive successes with Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, received lukewarm reception from critics and audiences. While the film had a strong opening day, its box office performance has dipped significantly on day two. Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki faced a tough challenge on its second day, witnessing a significant drop in occupancy and collections. With Prashanth Neel’s Salaar pulling audiences away, early estimates suggest Dunki will earn around 14 crore on day 2, bringing its total domestic box office collection to over 44 crore in two days.

While Dunki debuted decently with 30 crore nett on opening day, it fell short compared to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous blockbusters, Pathaan and Jawan, which opened with 55 crore and 65.5 crore nett respectively. Both films further went on to achieve over 1000 crore in worldwide box office earnings. Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has made a strong domestic box office debut with an estimated total collection of Rs 95 crore nett across all languages.

Dunki faces a steep climb over its opening weekend against the juggernaut of Salaar. After a lukewarm start, can Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s first collaboration bounce back against Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s highly anticipated pairing? Dunki hit theaters on December 21st, while Salaar roars into cinemas today, setting the stage for a box office clash of cinematic titans.

With Dunki struggling to find its footing, the arrival of Salaar feels like a seismic shift in the box office landscape. While Hirani’s brand of heartwarming humor usually draws distinct audiences, the Prabhas-Neel juggernaut carries the weight of KGF’s record-breaking legacy. This clash becomes even more intriguing due to the contrasting styles of the films. Dunki promises a quirky road trip with social commentary, while Salaar revs up with high-octane action and mythical grandeur. Each film caters to a dedicated, passionate fanbase, leaving analysts unsure whether there’s room for both to thrive.
