Netizens bash Akshay Kumar as they found an old cigarette brand ad featuring him
It seems that Akshay Kumar’s endorsement controversy is not going to end so soon. As now a netizen has found out an old ad of Akshay Kumar where the actor is endorsing a cigarette brand. This has fumed all the netizens as in the statement, Akshay had mentioned that he had never got into such advertising.
Taking to the Twitter handle, the user shared the old cigarette ad of Akshay Kumar and wrote, “Since it is an honest clarification, I’d wish there was honesty in the statement Akki sir”

As soon as the truth came in, netizens stormed the social media with trolls. “While I have not endorsed tobacco”!! Cigarettes are made of gulkand (rose petals preserve) kya? Liar. And then there’s Bagpiper. And sugary colas. Pity a country where a person like you is a role model of success,” tweeted journalist Ujval Nanavati.
Earlier, Akshay shared a note on his social media handle which read, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar was lastly seen in Bachchhan Paandey along with Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshan Warsi. The actor will next be seen opposite Manushi Chhillar in the much-anticipated period drama Prithviraj. The former beauty queen will make her big Bollywood debut in this film. Apart from that, Akshay will appear in films such as Ram Setu, OMG 2, Raksha Bandhan, Gorkha, and others.
