1) Rekha was born in Chennai on 10th October 1954. Her complete name is Bhanurekha Ganesan, and she is the daughter of South Indian actor Gemini Ganesan and Telugu actress Pushpavalli. Her parents were never married, that’s why she has one sister and 6 half-siblings.

2) Rekha and her mother were abandoned by her father and she struggled in her life since her childhood without her father’s support.

3) Do you know that the actress had to quit her schooling at the age of 13 for work? Due to financial constraints, she looked for opportunities and started acting at a very young age.

4) In the beginning, she was forced to act in low-grade movies as she was financially strapped. She got B & C grade roles in Telugu movies at that time. 

5) Well, Beauty comes with fitness. Do you know that Rekha is the first actress in Bollywood to start gyming? Yes! The actress enrolled herself in basic swimming and exercise classes in a gym during her time.
