Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria can celebrate now that their romance drama Tadap has performed well on Monday. When compared to Friday’s 4.05 crores, the film took in 2.25 crores more, which is reasonable. Anything between 2.5 and 3 crores would have been more thrilling, but the fact that it is still more than 2 crores suggests that the hold is better than 50%, which is fine as well.
Sajid Nadiadwala decided to exclusively release the film in theatres, and the film has already grossed 15.37 crores. This one could have easily gone to the OTT, as so many other newbie films did in the last 20 months. It was always going to be a theatrical affair for Nadiadwala Grandson, whether it was a living affair like Tadap or a blockbuster like 83, because the production house has always believed in making movies for the big screens and catering to the family/youth audiences.
The Milan Luthria-directed film will eventually earn a respectable sum, and while weekdays should remain stable from here on out, one must wait to see how the film performs over the weekend.
Tadap is a remake of the 2018 Telugu film RX 100, starring Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film was supposed to start shooting in April 2019, but it was postponed owing to covid procedures.
