Taapsee Pannu responds to Sonakshi Sinha’s comment ‘star kids debate are useless’

Sometimes it feels like nepotism is a never-ending topic and the insider-outsider debate will go on forever. Sonakshi Sinha is a very vocal actor, she has spoken about a lot of things, be it body positivity or nepotism. Sonakshi in an interview spoke about how star kids are also replaced in movies by outsiders but they never cry and complain as others do. And the statement doesn’t go well with many people.

Sonakshi in an interview with Pinkvilla admitted to losing out on films and called it ‘part and parcel of the job’. She said, “Of course. Who hasn’t? This whole star kid debate is useless because it is not like no star kid hasn’t lost out on a project because of somebody else. But nobody goes around crying about it. It’s okay, sab ke saath hota hai. Deal with it, dude. That’s life. There is no point talking about spilt milk.”

Recently Taapsee gave her opinions on the statement while she promoting her upcoming movie ‘Rashmi Rocket’. Talking to Bollywood Bubble Tapsee replied, “Definitely, I am sure that any actor, Starkid or not Starkid will be losing out on films to someone else. But the only criteria is not because that a Starkid has lost on a film because that person is an outsider, so that person has got the film. But as outsiders, definitely we have lost out on films because someone was there recommending and pushing someone’s name who definitely had those contacts in the industry and those are mostly star kids. So, I am not saying that they wouldn’t have lost out on films. They would have lost films to outsiders because of the fact that they are outsiders. So, that is the difference.” She added, “But every actor has gone through a situation where they have been pushed out of the film, can be star kids or even outsiders.”

On the professional front, Taapse will be seen in Akarsh Khurrana’s Rashami Rocket. The film will be premiered on 15th October on ZEE5.
