Taali Creators Arjun & Kartik Laud Sushmita Sen’s Commitment, Recall Her Filming a Rain Scene Despite Battling High Fever
Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D. Nishandar have been often referred as the dynamic duo, who have been applauded for their work. And this time, they are being appreciated on the Sushmita Sen-led streaming series ‘Taali’. They were seen having gala time for the same and shared their cherished moments during the production of the show calling it an “incredible” journey.Â
Taali is a web series that tells the story of Shreegauri Sawant, a transgender activist who played a pivotal role in the transgender rights movement in India. Born as Ganesh and raised in Pune, Shreegauri faced discrimination and hardship throughout her life, but she never gave up fighting for her rights. She was a founding member of the All India Transgender Association and was instrumental in the campaign to get the third gender recognized by the Indian government.
The series is directed by Ravi Jadhav and stars Sushmita Sen as Shreegauri. It is a powerful and inspiring story about the fight for equality and justice. In an interview with IANS, the creators of the web series Taali, Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D. Nishandar, shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the filming and the inspiration behind the project.
Recalling their experiences, the duo said, “We created a treasure trove of memories while working on the sets of Taali. Preparing for Taali was an extraordinary journey. Sushmita Sen underwent a significant transformation – both physically and emotionally. Her physical transformation, body language, voice modulation, and pronunciation were just a few highlights of Sushmita’s evolution from Ganesh to Gauri.”
They also spoke about the inspiration behind the project, saying, “We were inspired by the story of Shreegauri Sawant, a transgender activist who played a pivotal role in the transgender rights movement in India. We wanted to tell her story in a way that would educate and inspire viewers.”
