T-Series Secures Music Rights for Both Parts of Ramayana in Landmark ₹75 Crore Deal
Anticipation surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s epic film adaptation Ramayana continues to surge. Following news that Sony Pictures has signed on for global distribution outside India, music powerhouse T-Series has acquired the audio rights for the highly anticipated two-part saga.
Industry sources confirm that T-Series secured the rights after a competitive bidding war among top music labels.
Key Details of the Record Agreement
Advance Deal Value: T-Series has committed an advance payment of ₹75 crore, covering the soundtracks for both Part 1 and Part 2.
It comes with a refundable advance structure. A source close to the label clarified that the ₹75 crore figure operates under a refundable advance arrangement.
Now, look at the Industry Impact. The deal stands as one of the largest music rights agreements ever inked by an Indian record label, cementing T-Series’ market leadership while raising expectations for the film’s musical score.
A Stellar Creative and Star Cast
Speaking on the acquisition, a senior associate noted:
“T-Series has acquired the music rights of Ramayana. Bhushan Kumar and the senior leadership at T-Series are supremely confident about the potential of the film’s soundtrack.”
Musical Maestros: The original score and soundtrack are being composed by Oscar winners A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
Lead Cast: Features Ranbir Kapoor (Lord Rama), Sai Pallavi (Sita), Yash (Ravana), Sunny Deol (Lord Hanuman), and Ravie Dubey (Lakshman).
Direction & Production: Directed by Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal) and produced by Namit Malhotra.
Release Timeline: The first installment is set to hit theaters on Diwali 2026, with the concluding chapter following on Diwali 2027.
