In a recent development about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, we get to hear how the Mumbai Police were targeted to tarnish their image. In recent reports of Hindustan Times and The Wire, several fringe elements on social media have created more than 80K accounts on different social networking sites to target the Mumbai Police for tarnishing their image. This was reported by the cyber cell who has been investigating the case in the recent time. So, at one end we have reports from AIIMS doctors claiming that it is a suicide and not a murder.

The Mumbai Police have therefore registered cases under the IT Act. As per the reports of Mumbai Police Cyber Crime, it has been found out that there are several posts which have been uploaded on the social media platforms from different nations including Italy, Poland, Turkey, France, Romania, Thailand, Slovenia, and Indonesia. Talking about the same, the Mumbai Police have found the posts in different foreign languages as well by identifying with their hashtags.

The senior IPS office also informed they are in the process of finding out such accounts by verifying a sea of other accounts. As per reports, the campaign was managed only to demoralize the Mumbai Police, which lost around 84 cops during the pandemic, while 6000 men and women were infected by the virus. The Mumbai police alleged that it was a campaign with vested interest to malign the image of the Police. Param Bir Singh, Mumbai police commissioner also confirmed about the same. Stay tuned for more on this.
