Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, and Rajinikanth Set to Clash with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. This Independence Day
Independence Day is widely regarded as one of the most lucrative times of the year for film releases. This year, Aditya Chopra has already reserved the weekend for the much-anticipated release of War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. However, a potential three-way clash is brewing for the August 15 weekend. A reliable source from the industry has confirmed that Aamir Khan is contemplating the release of Lahore: 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Sunny Deol, during the Independence Day weekend in 2025.
The source stated, “Lahore: 1947 is a film that celebrates India’s Independence, and what better day to release it than August 15? They are strongly considering this date and will make an official announcement soon.” The film will feature Sunny Deol in the lead role, with Aamir Khan appearing in an extended cameo.
But that’s not all; War 2 will face additional competition from Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, also slated for an Independence Day release. “The Rajinikanth starrer is the most awaited film in Tamil cinema, and the producers have locked in this date for their film. Interestingly, Coolie will also feature Aamir Khan in an extended cameo,” the source added.
As it stands, August 15 is shaping up to be an epic showdown, with War 2 battling against Coolie and Lahore: 1947. The competition is expected to intensify in the coming weeks, making it one of the most exciting Independence Day weekends in recent years.
