Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah recently completed 12 glorious years on July 28. The popular sitcom was recently in news as two of its important actors Gurucharan Singh and Neha Mehta decided to leave the show. ETimes TV had exclusively reported about Balwinder Singh Suri replacing Gurucharun Singh in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and now we have learnt that popular actress Sunayana Fozdar will be stepping into the shoes of Neha Mehta’s character.
Sources close to the actress informed us that Neha has already quit the show. However, the reason for the same remains unclear. She was part of TMKOC for 12 years and now Sunayana Fozdar will be seen playing the role of Taarak Mehta’s (Sailesh Lodha) wife Anjali. The actress will start shooting for the show today (August 23). Gurucharan’s replacement Balwinder Singh Suri has also started shooting for the show. Suri is best remembered for playing the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s friend in the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. He has done films like ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’ and ‘Dhamaal’, to name a few.
Neha did not resume the shoot of TMKOC after the lockdown as she had decided to leave the show. The makers were looking for her replacement and now they have finalized, Sunayana for the role of Anjali.
We had also reported about veteran actor Rakesh Bedi being a part of the show and that he was roped into play the role of Taarak Mehta’s boss.
Talking about Sunayana, the actress has been part of several successful TV shows like Santaan, Left Right Left, Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Qubool Hai, Ek Rishta Saajhedaari Ka, Belan Wali Bahu amongst others.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been doing well on the TRP charts and has continued to fetch good numbers even post the lockdown. It has managed to make its presence in the list of Top five most watched shows of the Indian television.
