Wiki – Sukhwinder Singh is an Indian singer, who is popular for singing a number of Bollywood songs. The song Chaiyya Chaiyya is among the popular song, which even gave him the Filmfare awards in singing in the year 1999. It’s a duet song from a movie called Dil Se, which was composed by A R Rahman and was written by Gulzar. This song really gave him a huge rounds of applauds from different musical circles both in India and abroad. It was features in musical Bombay Dreams and seen with different remixes as well. Another song that helped him reach at the zenith of stardom was Jai Ho from the movie called Slumdug Millionaire, which even gave the movie a number of Oscar awards and even the Grammy Award for best song written and music as well.

Biography : He got his first break from the film called Karma followed by another called Khilaaf, which carried his first hit song called Aa Ja Sanam. However, soon he realised he has something missing in his voice so he took voyage to England and USA in order to study different forms of music. Once he felt that his music horizons have expanded, he reverted to the B Town and it really gave a good kick start in his musical career. His next hit was a song from Dil Se called Chaiyya Chaiyya, while he did playback singing for a number of movies including Biwi No 1, Taal, 1947 Earth, Daag, Dillagi, Apna Sapna Money Money, Chak De, Om Shanti Om, etc. His song like Chak De India, Dard E Disco and Haule Haule from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi really made him carve his nice perfectly.
As far as the awards are concerned, he won the Filmfare award for his song called Chaiyya Chaiyya followed by the movie Haule Haule from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The song Jai Ho really did well and gave him international recognition as the movie Slumdog Millionaire got a couple of Oscar awards for different category including this song along with Grammy Awards. He has given his voice to a number of film actors including SRK, Arjun Rampal, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Degn, Saif Ali Khan, Rohit Roy, Sunny Deol, Tusshar Kapoor, Shabbir Ahluwallia, etc. Apart from doing a playback singing for a number of movies both hits and flops, he also worked as music director to different leading movies of Bollywood. His solo music album includes Jashn in the year 2001.
