Dilip Kumar or Muhammad Yusuf Khan has his big day today as he celebrates his 92nd birthday. The tragedy king was born on 11th December 1922 in Peshawar Pakistan, which was before independence the very part of India. His father was a landlord and a fruit merchant who had his business both in India (Deolali- Nashik) and Pakistan (Peshawar). Dilip Kumar had his schooling in Deolali, which is very much close to Mumbai. Thus the seed of acting in his life when one of the filmmaker Devika Rani spotted Dilip Kumar in Pune and thus decided him to cast in the lead role in the movie Jwar Bhata in 1944.
Since then it was no looking back for this legendary actor who carved his niche as one of the best actor in Bollywood. In his career, he has given some of the best movies under different genre. In his early days, he did movies like Jogan, Deedar, Daag, Devdas, Yahudi and Madhumati. He continued to dominate the Industry till 90’s and was honoured with a number of awards. The legendary actor was in hospital owing to pneumonia, however, was back to normal and thus would be seen celebrating his birthday at the Bandra residence. So, a very happy and prosperous birthday to this man who ruled Bollywood for long!
