South-Asian American Actress Shezray Husain Makes Her Debut in Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Gunaah’

South-Asian American actress Shezray Husain is eagerly anticipating her debut in Disney+ Hotstar’s latest series, Gunaah. Shezray takes on the role of Divya in what is set to be a captivating and thrilling narrative. The web series is based on the popular Turkish drama Ezel and is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Shezray shares the screen with fellow leading actors Gashmeer Mahajani and Surbhi Jyoti, adding to the anticipation surrounding the show. With a strong background in theatre and commercial work, Shezray successfully secured the role of Divya after a rigorous audition process.
Her journey involved multiple rounds of auditions, culminating in an in-person reading that solidified her place in the cast. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA, Shezray has always been passionate about acting. She began her acting career in theatre during her school years and further honed her skills by attending acting and improv workshops in the United States. Expressing her excitement, Shezray shared, “I am thrilled to make my debut in such a compelling series like Gunaah. The entire experience, from auditions to working on set, has been incredibly rewarding. I hope the audience connects with Divya and enjoys the series as much as we enjoyed creating it.
While Shezray didn’t have to learn entirely new skills for her role in Gunaah, she dedicated herself to refining her acting abilities. Despite Hindi not being her first language, Shezray committed herself to perfecting her diction in order to deliver authentic performances on screen. Prior to her Bollywood debut in Gunaah, Shezray worked on various notable projects in India. She has appeared in advertisements for renowned brands such as Samsung, LG, Parachute, and Maybelline. She also starred in a music video for Cancer Awareness by Shaan. However, Gunaah marks her first major on-screen project in India, allowing her talent to shine before a wider audience.
