Raktanchal is out on MX player. This is one series from the real badlands of the country and it keeps me hitched till the end. Soundarya essays a very important character and had to learn the rural dialect of Purvanchal Hindi for her preparation of the role. Soundarya is avidly known for preparing for her characters well and taking the extra mile to do it.
We spoke to her on the same and here is what she says, “The local Hindi in that area is very different. They have a different tone to it. The sensitivities are different. So when I reached the place, I decided to take a few days and just go and meet people. I picked up some nuances from that and amalgamated in the character Roli I was playing. I am getting some invaluable feedback from the audience. Eventually that is what counts the most”
Soundarya is now far away in LA where she had gone to attend intensive Acting training at Lee Strasberg Theatre and film institute and New York Film Academy. She has been stranded for almost five months now. Its been a difficult time for her but she has kept her held high and looked at the positives during these distressful times.
