Sky Force Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Poised to Outshine Combined Openings of Sarfira, Mission Raniganj & Selfiee!

Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, is set to hit theaters this Friday, making it a fitting choice for a Republic Day release. Similar to last year, Bollywood is hoping to gain momentum in the first month of 2025. In 2024, Hrithik Roshan’s film Fighter made a strong debut, earning over 20 crores at the Indian box office just before Republic Day. While Akshay’s film may not match that level of success, it is anticipated to achieve a decent opening day collection.
The dynamics of the box office have significantly shifted in the post-pandemic landscape. Today, success hinges on perception; if a film can generate initial buzz, it can perform well even with average content. Unfortunately, this has been a challenge for Akshay Kumar, as his recent releases have struggled to create strong buzz, resulting in disappointing pre-sales and negative perceptions.Initially, Sky Force faced similar low buzz in advance bookings. However, there has been a positive shift in momentum, and the film is now poised for respectable pre-sales on its opening day. Although it may not be a front-loaded hit, the goodwill associated with Maddock Films is likely to attract walk-in audiences. If the content resonates well, ticket sales could see encouraging movement throughout the day.In comparison to Akshay Kumar’s recent films, Sky Force boasts a solid showing across the country, with the number of screenings nearing 10,000.
As the day progresses, this figure is expected to rise further. Another advantage for the film is the lack of competition, as Pushpa 2 has settled in, and recent Hindi releases have faltered.Taking all these factors into account, Sky Force is projected to achieve a day 1 collection of 7-9 crores net at the Indian box office. This would mark a decent start, especially considering Akshay’s recent struggles. In fact, it could potentially surpass the cumulative openings of Sarfira (2.50 crores), Mission Raniganj (2.80 crores), and Selfiee (2.55 crores), which together total 7.85 crores.
