Shruti Haasan’s Hollywood Debut ‘The Eye’ to Have India Premiere at Wench Film Festival

Actress Shruti Haasan’s Hollywood debut film, ‘The Eye’, is set to have its India premiere at the prestigious Wench Film Festival in the country. Directed by Daphne Schmon, the film will be the opening feature of the 5th edition of the festival, which is dedicated to horror, sci-fi, and fantasy films.The festival will take place from February 27 to March 2.‘The Eye’ tells the haunting story of Diana, played by Shruti Haasan, who journeys to the remote island where her husband, Felix (Mark Rowley), drowns. However, her grief soon turns to intrigue when she learns of the mysterious ‘Evil Eye’ ritual – an ancient practice that might bring Felix back, but at a dark and unsettling cost.
The film was shot on location in Athens and Corfu and has already generated excitement among global audiences following its initial screenings at the London Independent Film Festival and the Greek International Film Festival.
Expressing her excitement about the Indian premiere, Shruti Haasan said, “Psychological thrillers have always been a genre that fascinates me. To be part of a story that dives deep into human emotions, grief, and the supernatural is incredibly exciting.” She also highlighted the film’s all-women-led production and its commitment to sustainable filmmaking.

‘The Eye’ is produced by Fingerprint Content, and the India premiere at the Wench Film Festival promises to be a thrilling introduction for Indian audiences to Shruti Haasan’s foray into the world of Hollywood.
