Shefali Jariwala Found Dead death still unknown: Investigation Underway

A day after actress and television personality Shefali Jariwala was found dead at her home in Andheri West, police have reported that her post-mortem has been completed, but the cause of death remains inconclusive. Doctors at Cooper Hospital, who conducted the autopsy, have withheld their opinion pending further forensic analysis, leading the police to file an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
The 42-year-old actress, best known for the early 2000s hit remix ‘Kaanta Laga’ and her appearances on reality shows like Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye 5 and 7, was reportedly unwell at home on Friday night. Her husband, television actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri around 11:15 PM, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Her body was subsequently transferred to R N Cooper Hospital in Juhu for the autopsy.
According to police sources, Jariwala had been suffering from a neurological disorder and was on medication. Preliminary findings suggest she may have experienced a cardiac arrest, but investigators are awaiting toxicology and histopathology reports. Blood and viscera samples have been preserved and sent to the Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory for detailed analysis.
Officers from Amboli police station conducted a forensic inspection at the couple’s residence in the Golden Rays-Y building, questioning family members, domestic staff, and neighbors. A senior officer confirmed that no foul play is suspected at this time, although the investigation will remain open until final reports are received.
“Her father, Satish, was present at home when she began feeling uneasy after taking some medication. We found several medicines at the residence, which we are currently investigating,” an officer stated. Another official added, “Preliminary information indicates a natural death. However, we are not ruling anything out until forensic reports are reviewed.”
State Home Minister Yogesh Kadam told reporters that police would take action if any complaints arise. “As of now, we have registered an ADR,” he said.
Jariwala’s sudden death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Her last rites were performed on Saturday evening at Oshiwara Hindu crematorium, attended by family, friends, and colleagues. Her husband Parag Tyagi, father Satish Jariwala, and sister Shivani Jariwala conducted the final rituals.
Notable attendees included singers Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan, along with actors Shehnaz Gill, Aarti Singh, Bakhtyar Irani, Mahira Sharma, Rashami Desai, Vikas Gupta, and filmmaker Ashok Pandit, as well as director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.
