Two movies released last Friday, the first one was The Shaukeens and the other was Rang Rasiya. The Shaukeens starring Akshay Kumar, Lisa Haydon, Piyush Mishra, Anupam Kher and Annu Kapoor. The movie is basically the remake of the 1982 Shaukeen with the same storyline being directed by the veteran director – Basu Chatterjee. The movie released in around 2000 screens, however, as far as the response to the movie is concerned; it was not up to the mark. The movie started with a dull collection on the first day. The morning shows reflected the occupancy rate of around 20 percent at the metros.
Despite having a good fan following of Akshay Kumar and high star value, the movie failed to garner a good response over the box office collection. The first day collection went to around 5 crores, while the figure flared up in the coming two days during the weekend with 6 and 7 crores respectively on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The total tolled to around 18 crores, which seems to be decent collection. Even the other movie Rang Rasiya failed to beat despite the pre-release buzz in the media. The experts are expecting to see a decent collection at the end of its first week.
