Shah Rukh Khan Leads 2024 High & Mighty Power List; Deepika Padukone Ranks Behind SS Rajamouli
As they say, Shah Rukh Khan reigns as the ultimate superstar with a fanbase that spans the globe. Currently dominating the box office with his blockbuster hits, he has secured the top spot on the High & Mighty 2024 Power list, which celebrates the industry’s most influential stars. Joining him is his frequent co-star, Deepika Padukone, who has been carving out her own legacy in the entertainment world and has claimed the title of Most Powerful Female Star on the list.
With notable releases like ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have become one of the most beloved on-screen duos, solidifying their presence in the industry. Deepika made waves with her 2024 film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ and has now earned a place on India Today magazine’s list, which chronicles the industry’s key figures. She ranks third, with Shah Rukh Khan at the top and S.S. Rajamouli in second place.
In discussing Shah Rukh Khan’s position, India Today highlighted several reasons for his selection, stating, “He still possesses the ability to captivate fans, whether in India, Abu Dhabi (where he hosted the IIFA awards), or Locarno, where he received the Pardo alla Carriera Ascona-Locarno Tourism award. Legend has it that traffic had to be redirected for two blocks in Berlin when fans gathered outside his hotel to celebrate his birthday. Additionally, a re-run of his classic romance, ‘Veer Zaara,’ recently surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark in worldwide collections.” The publication also noted the immense success of ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan,’ while praising his entrepreneurial ventures, including his investment in KKR (the IPL team), and acknowledging his substantial net worth, which places him among the wealthiest actors globally.Regarding S.S. Rajamouli, the note stated,
“With his ‘Bahubali’ series and ‘RRR,’ the Telugu director sets the gold standard for vision and spectacle in cinema. Director and producer Karan Johar has remarked that there is no ‘bigger filmmaker than Rajamouli in Indian cinema’ today. He has demonstrated that pan-India cinema is the future, having developed a cinematic language that blends awe-inspiring visuals with deep emotional resonance, connecting with audiences everywhere.”
