Shah Rukh Khan brings back his scholarship for helping researcher women

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is well known for his charity work, and the good news is that he has announced the return of his scholarship. It will be offered in collaboration with the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and La Trobe University.

The scholarship enrollment process has already begun on August 18 and will continue until September 23. The first scholarship was revealed at the 2019 event, which SRK headlined.

The actor came to the institution to kickstart this initiative. Gopika Kottantharayil Bhasi of Thrissur in Kerala, India, was granted the first scholarship softly after that. The university stated that this was their most desired award, with over 800 applicants, and so the scholarship has been brought back, thanks to the festival that supported it.

The primary selection requirements are that the candidate is a female Indian native living in India and has achieved a master of Research degree in the last ten years.

The chosen student will be awarded with a four-year full-fee research scholarship from La Trobe University.

The festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “We all know how big-hearted Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is, and he has shown it again and again.” The scholarship is a once-in-a-lifetime prospect for an Indian female researcher. India is full of potential and spark; all that is needed is to ignite that flame.”

She further added, “Shah Rukh Khan has a connection with IFFM for a long time. However, the idea of utilizing it for a good cause adds more value to it. La Trobe University is one of the higher education institutes in Australia; several aspiring candidates have a strong desire to study there.”

Well, this scholarship backed by SRK was first availed in 2019 in an IFFM event. However, they had to stop it last year because of the pandemic and travel limitations. La Trobe University which is known among the top universities in the world has hosted popular Indian celebrities. Some of them are PM Modi Ji, Kapil Dev, Late Indira Gandhi , Amitabh Bachchan, Ranjkumar HIrani, and Malaika Arora.
