As the much awaited trailer released on Wednesday evening, we noticed one thing prominent that came in the form of a message. One of the key messages of the film that the trailer seemed stating that Sanjay Dutt is not a terrorist while he was only charged for having unlawful arms at his place. It was just his reckless act that made him face the punishment. We have also heard the same when the actor was put behind the bars in Yerwada Jail in Pune that he was convicted for under the Arms act and not against the TADA Act. Perhaps this comes the moot point in the trailer getting highlighted in the trailer.
Then you can find the love life of this man which was discussed having hordes of divas playing different roles in the film. Anushka plays the journalist who has special interest in the life of Sanjay Dutt, while Dia Mirza is playing the character of Manyata. On the other side, we also see Vicky Kaushal is playing the best buddy playing the character of Kumar Gaurav, however, with his heavy Gujarati accent he seems to be far from what he is supposed to be. Similarly Paresh Rawal playing the character of Sunil Dutt seems to be a miscast for obvious reasons as playing this no-nonsense person is difficult to play, which is why Hirani wanted Aamir to play this character.
Now, let’s talk about the way Ranbir Kapoor has played the character of Dutt is interesting to explore. Once again Ranbir has proved that he can do justice to any role he is assigned. Playing the various shades of Dutt, one can find him excellent in his work as he was perfect putting his leg perfect in the shoes. Looking at the overall picture, the trailer can be a good watch and has the potential to make big over the silver screen thus giving a good run over the box office. But as we get real, we see Hirani missing the crucial year of 2006 of Sanjay Dutt’s character missing from the trailer. Then we realize B Town films crave for the three factors – entertainment, entertainment and entertainment and the trailer released is certainly an entertaining one.
