Sanam Re review

This Valentine’s week, you have two movies hitting, which certainly include the romantic thriller called Sanam Re. The film has Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Rishi Kapoor and Urvashi Rautela in the lead roles. The film is directed by Divya Khosla Kumar, while the film is produced Bhushan Kumar under the banner of T-Series Films. The movie has the music from Mithoon and others, while the cinematography is carried out with Sameer Arya. The film is a romantic drama, now, let us dig in deep into the film to get the crux of the same.

Sanam Re Plot

Meet Aakash played by Pulkit who comes from a small town called Tanakpur, which is being abandoned by a majority of youngsters in the search for their future. He then heads to Mumbai wherein he has to struggle lot to make his living, his life is a big mess thanks to his irritating boss. Owing to the office emergency then leaves for Canada wherein he has to impress Mrs. Pablo played by Urvashi Rautela for his promotion. All his plans go haywire when he finds his lost love – Shruti there. What happens next is interesting to catch up?

Script Analysis

The film is very much predictable that soon becomes a yawn fest in the very first half. You find the director herself being featured with the song followed by introducing a couple of unnecessary characters including the stupid boss who is seen cracking stupid jokes away from the humor. You find many incredible things happening, which showcases how amateurishly the script is written. You have a fairytales being followed by Aakash, which still doesn’t really make him perfect and hence had to woo his senior for his promotion. You can find loads of loopholes in the film, which becomes difficult to digest and the goddamn twist in the second half, which you really think would wait that long to catch.

Star Performances

No one seems to excel in the performance except Rishi Kapoor who unfortunately has a small screen presence. Talking about Pulkit, he seemed very much average in the film, however, he alone cannot be blamed for the same as the very culprit is the script. Yami is again not that impressive, however, if she really wants to stay ahead in the race, she has to work hard and stop giving weaker performances. If you talk about UrvashiRautela, she has hardly any role to play in the film, who is simply there to boost up the qualm quotient of the film.

Music, Direction and Technical Elements

DivyaKhosla Kumar though had tried to make the film intense drama but at the end of the day it turned out to be a tense drama adding nothing but a headache to the audience. The script is pitted with so many factual and other errors, which really makes the film indigestible to the audience. Now, if you talk about music, such films often demand soothing kind of music, which seems to been seen to some extent. Also, the locations chosen including the Himachal Pradesh, Leh and Canada appeared perfect and luckily have been shot the best, thanks to a decent cinematography, which managed the show in a decent fashion. Despite showing a couple of intense and sensual scenes in bikini in chilling Canada weather, Divya failed to impress with her film as these simply appeared bad to worse.

Sanam Re Review – Last Word

Though Sanam Re could be riding high due to good cinematography and soothing music, however, the direction, script and performance have been below average. In a sense, the film soon becomes a yawn fest right from the start and if you manage to survive in the entire film, you certainly deserves all applauds. So, what are you waiting for, don’t expect much on the rating perse as it has a low rating.
