The matter rose when pictures were circulated on internet, showing Shivling is covered with wooden planks during the shooting schedule of Debangg 3. Lately, Salman Khan has announced sequel of popular Debangg series and kicked off with its shooting schedule. Salman Khan was shooting in religious town Maheshwar, when political and religious sentiments broke out on covering of Shivling with planks.
To clear up the air, Salman Khan himself came forward and clarified that the religious idol was covered to restore and maintain its holiness. The act was not an offense for any religion. They understand the importance of the idol and believe in maintaining it.
The movie sets were created by the banks of river Narmada. The arrangement triggered a war of ideas among the Congress and BJP. A BJP leader from Bhopal district Rameshwar Sharma issued a statement emphasising that such incidents hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and strict actions should be taken against it. He asked to file an FIR against those who are responsible for it.
On the other hand Congress have different point of view, the state Congress Media Department chief Shobha Oza said that BJP leaders have a “narrow mindset”. She further expressed that “We are not required to respond to Sharma’s statement, but due to the narrow mindset of BJP leaders, the state did not see development during the 15-year rule of the party.” Moreover, Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Jitu Patwari felt that Salman is not doing anything wrong. He further said, “Salman is such a wonderful actor who always spread the message of religious harmony. The BJP should give up this kind of mindset and stop creating hurdles in the development of the state.”
As soon as Salman came to know about this outburst, he came out with real side of the story. Now, that’s what we call a heroic act.
