Saawan Kumar Tak receives tribute from Bollywood celebs Salman Khan, Rakesh Roshan, and others

Saawan Kumar Tak, a film director, and lyricist passed away tomorrow at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The 86-year-old filmmaker was admitted to the hospital a day ago for his lung infection treatment. He was also facing problems in breathing. 

According to reports, he died of heart failure at 4:15 pm as his heart stopped functioning. Various Bollywood celebrities have paid homage to the filmmaker. 

Salman Khan worked with Saawan Kumar Tak in the 1991 film ‘Sanam Bewafa’ and the 2006 movie ‘Saawan- The Love Season. The actor shared an old picture of the late director with him and captioned the post: “May You rest in peace, My Dear Saawan Ji. Have Always Loved and Respected You.”

Saawan Kumar Tak wrote many songs for Rakesh Roshan’s movie Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Remembered the filmmaker, Rakesh shared a post on Instagram that read: “Saawan Ji going to miss you, may your soul rest in peace ?”

Anil Kapoor also penned an emotional note for the late director and lyricist, recalling a few good memories through old throwback photos. He wrote, “Truly Saddened to Hear About the Demise of Saawan Kumar. The Ever-Joyful Saawanji’s Keen Understanding of Music Gave Us Some Beautiful Songs. I will Always Remember Him As One Of The First Directors Who Truly Believed In Me. RIP Saawan Ji.”

Veteran Actress Padmini Kohlaphure was in Saawan’s ‘Souten’ and ‘Sajan Bina Suhagan’. Remembering him, she too shared a throwback picture and wrote: “Zindagi Gham ka Sagar Bhi Hai …Hans Ke Uspaar Jaana Padega…Saawan Kumar Tak Aaj Zindagi Numa Saagar Ko Paar Karke Uspaar Chale Gaye. Om Shanti.”

The well-known director was born in Jaipur city. He made his debut as director of Meena Kumari’s Gomti Ke Kinare which was released in 1972. He gained popularity from the projects like Sanam Bewafa, Souten, Chaand Ka Tukda, and Saawan… The Love Season. 

In the film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai wrote soundtracks like ‘Chaand Sitare’, ‘Pyar Ki Kashti Mein’, and ‘Janeman Janeman’.
