Babumoshai Bandookbaaz Movie Review

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz : The film is poor man’s Gangs Of Wasseypur

Star Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bidita Bag, Chitrangda Singh, Divya Dutta, Shraddha Das
Director: Kushan Nandy
Rating: 1.5/5 Stars

Story : Meet Babu Bihari played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is playing the bounty hunter of a small town. He falls in love with a lady called Phulwa played by Bidita Bag. Things change when we get to see Banke Bihari played by Jatin Goswami who enters the scene calling Babu as his guru. They soon end up falling into a challenge of who will kill first & more. The film is all about the dare & how the way it mixes with politics. So, what happens the next is interesting to catch.

Review : The earlier film of Nawazuddin called Gangs Of Wasseypur was certainly an epic example of how good movies are made in B Town. However, this film lacks all the elements, which was evident in GOW. The film has a very confusing script and story, which fails to connect the audience thus giving them too much of loo breaks. Now talking abotu the performances of the actor, Nawaz who happens to be the face wherein the entire movie has been sold has perfectly gone well, while Bibita Bag too remains good in her performance but unfortunately, she has least to add in this shaky kind of script. Others too remain good with their performances but the fact of the matter is only fine performances barely can make a good movie.

Now talking about the direction and music of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. One can clearly see the director, Kushan Nandy dragging the movie a lot making the one-line plot to creep too long but it fails grip the audience. Though it has a few high moments but they do not suffice to the core. As they say we need three things to make a cool movie, which is nothing but script, script and script. The Music of the movie by Gaurav Dagaonkar, Abhilash Lakra, Joel Dubba and Debjyoti Mishra seemed to ruin the show unlike too many cooks spoil the dish this film is a perfect example of the same. And yes, Ghungta with her typical, stereotyped item song has not much to offer, while Barfani & Aye Saiyan, fails to lure the music lover out from you.

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz The Last Word

This film has only one thing to offer the hot scenes, which will be only searched on the YouTube as ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz hot sequences’. It has no potential to earn big over the box office, even a meager collection should appease the makers. It is nothing but the bad version of Gangs of Waseypur.
