Throwback: Birthday boy Rohit Shetty unveiled the black truth of award ceremonies

Bollywood’s blockbuster action filmmaker Rohit Shetty has never failed to impress us with his action-packed drama hits. Whether it’s a comedy, action, romance, or excitement, the director understands how to bring all genres to life on screen.

Today, on 14th March, the ace director celebrates his 49th birthday today, on his birthday let us go back to the moment where Rohit Shetty revealed the real face of award shows. Earlier in a podcast with Neha Dhupia, the director said, “If they pay me, I go. Genuinely. If they pay me ki aake host kar lo or if they give me an award, then I go. Otherwise no. Because it’s all fake na. It’s all a TV show.”

Speaking about how commercial films doesn’t get the expected recognition it deserves in award functions, Rohit Shetty said, “We also work hard yaar, aisa nahi hai. We work 18 hours a day on a film. Making commercial films are more difficult; shooting an action scene in 48°C is more difficult than making a normal film in a house. But you don’t consider commercial films. I tell them, If you want to give me an award, then I am coming, or if you want to pay me to host a segment, then I will come”.

Meanwhile, Rohit is collaborating with Ranveer Singh on Cirkus. The film is a comedy-drama in which Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma play pivotal parts. The director also has Singham 3 with Ajay Devgn, and also Sidharth Malhotra starrer Amazon Prime’s cop drama.

Well, we at Cine Talkers wish the talented director, a very happy birthday. We wish to see his amazing films on screens soon with more action and drama.
