Rishabh Pant accident: A CCTV captured moments of the tragic incident

Rishabh Pant was injured in an accident early Friday morning. He was driving from Delhi to Uttarakhand when his car collided with a barrier.

A security camera captured the moment cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car collided with a barrier. The Mercedes-AMG GLE43 Coupe was filmed hitting the barrier at high speed in Uttarakhand. Following the incident at Roorkee, the car took fire, injuring the 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman.

When the tragedy occurred, Pant was going from Delhi to Roorkee to surprise his mother and spend the New Year with his family.

According to authorities, the cricketer said he dozed off while driving and lost control of the vehicle. To save his life, he had to shatter one of the windows.

His illness is not critical, and he has been referred to Dehradun’s Max Hospital. According to a doctor at the hospital, he received minor injuries and is aware. Pant was just dropped from the forthcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Pant’s condition is stable, according to Dr. Ashish Yagnik of Max Hospital, and he is being monitored. “Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he’s examined. Thereafter, we’ll take the next steps.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah shared a tweet, following the horrific car crash. “My thoughts and prayers are with Rishabh Pant as he fights his way back to recovery. I have spoken to his family and the doctors treating him. Rishabh is stable and undergoing scans. We are closely monitoring his progress and will provide him with all the necessary support,” he tweeted.

Pant was a member of the Indian side that defeated Bangladesh in a 2-0 Test series earlier this month. He has previously wowed with hits of 46 and 93.

He was recently withdrawn from the T20I squad named for the series against Sri Lanka and was scheduled to attend the National Cricket Academy for a strength and conditioning programme ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in February.

Pant spent Christmas in Dubai with former India captain MS Dhoni and his family, and Dhoni’s wife Sakshi shared photos on social media.
