Republic Day 2022: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s patriotic songs that are forever evergreen!

Today is the 73rd Republic Day of India. The Republic Day of India is celebrated every year on January 26, and it is the day on which, in 1950, our Constitution came into force. As we celebrate the day with pride in our hearts and a smile on our faces, we revisit some of the classic patriotic songs sung by The ‘Nightingale of India’ Lata Mangeshkar. On this 73rd Republic day, we rewatch some of her classics, including Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon and Mera Rang De Basanti Chola.

Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon:
A perfect song to hear on Republic Day. Remembering the song in 2013, Lata Ji stated that she never expected the song to be so successful, saying, “Since it was not part of a film, I thought it would have a limited impact but Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon became my signature tune.

Aisa Des Hai Mera:
Lata Mangeshkar won hearts with the Aisa Des Hai Mera song, a song based on India and Pakistan from the Veer Zara movie. To top it all, Shah Rukh Khan’s and Preity Zinta’s act is a cherry on the cake.

Mera Rang De Basanti Chola:
Another Lata song that spreads magic like no other has to be Mera Rang De Basanti Chola. Sung by Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, and Rajendra Mehta, the song is from the 1995 film Shaheed. The song is extremely emotional and the lyrics are so deep.

Ek Tu Hi Bharosa:
Composed by AR Rahman and sung by Lata Mangeshkar, the song is super-special. It hails from the 2000 film, Pukar.

Luka Chuppi:
Luka Chuppi has found a special place in everyone’s heart. The song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar and A R Rahman and from the album Rang De Basanti.
