Ranveer Singh is currently on a promotional spree as his highly awaited film Jayeshbhai Jordaar is all set to release on 13th May 2022. Ahead of its release, the film has got up into legal trouble over the portrayal of a prenatal sex-determination scene in the trailer.
A plea has been filed by advocate Pawan Prakash Pathak at the Delhi court. According to the advocate, the representation of prenatal sex determination is ‘statutorily prohibited’ and it has been shown in the trailer. However, he also hopes that the scene will be ‘deleted on grounds of promoting prohibited activities.’
Talking about the film Ranveer says “Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a unique experience because it has pushed me into becoming a character with no reference point in Hindi cinema. Jayeshbhai is not your typical hero. He discovers heroism when he is pushed to the brink, and according to me, he is one of the most lovable heroes in Hindi cinema,” he says.
Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a social comedy-drama starring Shalini Pandey and directed by Divyang Thakkar, who is making his directorial debut.
Apart from Jayeshbhaai Jordaar, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, co-starring Alia Bhatt. After Gully Boy, this is their second collaboration. With this film, Karan Johar returns to the director’s chair after a six-year gap.
