Ranveer Singh set to star in Gujarat-set ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’

Directed by the young and dynamic debutant, Divyang Thakkar under The Yash Raj Films production, buzz is high on Ranveer Singh being the part of the film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actor used his Twitter handle to announce the news. The film has also been written by Divyang Thakkar and is set to be filmed in Gujarat. However, the producer for the film is Maneesh Sharma (Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Sui Dhaaga).

Ranveer described the script of the film as “humourous and poignant” in an interview done with DNA where he also mentioned that, “Jayeshbhai is a film with a big heart,” he told the publication. “It’s a movie for everyone!” Maneesh Sharma, who was the director for Ranveer’s debut film, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011) also described Jayeshbhai Jordaar as a “content-driven mass entertainer” and also called the script was “a balance of a relevant message delivered in an entertaining manner” as per a conversation with DNA. Jayeshbhai Jordaar is set to be relesead in the month of October this year as added by the publication.

Ranveer Singh’s last superhit releases includes- Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, while he is lined up to be next be seen in 83, which is Kabir Khan’s sports drama about India’s first-ever Cricket World Cup victory in the year 1983. Ranveer plays the role of the virtuous Indian captain Kapil Dev. The film, 83 is set to be released on April 10, 2020.

Ranveer is expected to be a complete fit for the film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar as he has previously played small Gujarati character in a television commercial for the booking website Make My Trip, along with Alia Bhatt.
