Rani Mukerji Set to Return with ‘Mardaani 3’, Shoot Kicks Off in June
Rani Mukerji is set to reprise her role as the fierce cop in ‘Mardaani 3’, with filming scheduled to commence in June 2025. Announced in 2024, the film is currently in the pre-production phase, where the makers are conducting look tests for key characters. According to reports from Mid-Day, the production team is also on the lookout for an actor to portray the film’s antagonist.
The director aims to start filming the highly anticipated cop thriller by June, with Yash Raj Films actively refining the screenplay and conducting auditions to introduce fresh talent. A significant emphasis is being placed on casting a compelling villain. The production team has already finalized several key shooting locations, with major portions set to be filmed in Mumbai and Delhi, while additional locations in North India are expected to be confirmed soon.
Rani Mukerji expressed her excitement about the project when it was announced, stating, “When we set out to make Mardaani 3, we hoped to find a script that elevates the experience of watching a Mardaani film. I am really excited about what we have at hand and hope the audience feels the same.” She acknowledged the franchise’s popularity and the responsibility to meet audience expectations, noting, “Mardaani is an extremely loved franchise, and we will do our best to live up to this.”
