Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Receives Adults-Only Certification from CBFC; Sandeep Reddy Vanga Discloses Film’s Duration

Get ready for the intense ride that is Animal! Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming action thriller has been slapped with an ‘A’ (adults only) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), hinting at the gritty and mature content that awaits audiences. This much-anticipated film marks the first collaboration between Ranbir and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his hard-hitting dramas like Arjun Reddy and its blockbuster Hindi remake Kabir Singh. Animal is reportedly a “violent” film that delves into the complex and obsessive relationship between a son, played by Ranbir Kapoor, and his father, portrayed by Anil Kapoor. Brace yourself for an action-packed cinematic experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

While many in the industry expected Animal to receive an A certificate from the CBFC, the film’s runtime of 3 hours 21 minutes has raised eyebrows. This 200-minute duration makes Animal one of the longest mainstream theatrical films to be released in recent years. This extended runtime suggests that Animal is a deeply immersive cinematic experience that will keep audiences captivated from start to finish.

The film is known for its huge run time as it closes to around three and half hours, which will also put its impact over screening in the theatres as the multiplexes have less time and more movies to cover. Also, the multiplexes cover a couple of ads during the intermission and other time, which will reduce their time to earn money from their brands.

Animal has the chance to become one of the highest-grossing adult-rated films in Bollywood. Currently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2019 film Kabir Singh leads the list with Rs 278 crore as its lifetime collection, followed by the propaganda movies including The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story earning Rs 252 crore and Rs 242 crores, respectively. Animal has Bobby Deol in the negative role while others include Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, among others. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 1st December clashing with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
