Ramayana: Part One to Offer JioHotstar Pay-Per-View Release Following Theatrical Window

Prime Focus Studios’ upcoming cinematic epic, Ramayana: Part One, has partnered with JioHotstar to introduce a pay-per-view (PPV) model for Indian audiences following its exclusive theatrical run. The agreement allows viewers to purchase on-demand digital access to the film directly on the streaming platform.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the multi-starrer live-action adaptation is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026 (Diwali), across IMAX 3D and standard screens in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English.
Expanding Access Across India
Addressing the partnership, Nita M. Ambani, Chairperson of JioStar, highlighted the initiative’s cultural significance:
“Ramayana is one of India’s greatest civilisational treasures… At JioHotstar, our vision is to use technology to bring the finest stories within reach of every Indian. It is our privilege to present this grand cinematic vision of Ramayana to families across the country.”
Producer and DNEG CEO Namit Malhotra emphasized that while the film was engineered for the largest screens, digital pay-per-view ensures wider accessibility:
“I believe Ramayana should be experienced on the biggest screen possible, in IMAX 3D. But our country’s cinema infrastructure cannot reach everyone… JioHotstar made a natural partner to take Ramayana into people’s hands and living rooms, after its theatrical run.”

Produced by Prime Focus Studios alongside DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film features a screenplay adapted by Shridhar Raghavan from Valmiki’s epic. The music is co-composed by A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
The ensemble cast includes, Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman
The supporting cast features Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, and Kajal Aggarwal. Specific pricing and the official streaming release date on JioHotstar will be announced following the conclusion of its theatrical window.
