Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are back with ‘Stree 2’: Watch THIS quirky video
Even nearly five years after its initial release, Stree (2018) starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is still regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s best horror-comedies. The film’s creators had previously stated that a sequel was in the works, and just a few days ago, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor confirmed Stree 2’s release date in an unusual manner at a Jio Studios event in Mumbai.
Rajkummar shared a video of the hilarious performance on Instagram today, revealing that Stree 2 will be released in August 2024. Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, Rajkummar Rao wrote, “ओ स्त्री, अगले साल आना। Oh Stree, 2 phir aa gayi! ? Here to rip your hearts out, Maddock Films & Jio Studios reintroduce you to the witch you fell in love with. Milegi Milegi, sabko milegi #Stree2 in August 2024.

Film’s main cast Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana can be seen in a little skit in the video. The video begins with a scary music soundtrack and the ghostly form of Stree taking over the stage. In the background, the words ‘Oh Stree kal ana’ can be seen. When Rajkummar takes the stage, she lets forth a strange laugh.
“Stree ji ap?” he asks. “Itni pyar se dekha, prem samman sab dilaya phir ap kyu aa gayi?” Then Shraddha appears on stage in a saree to meet Rajkummar, who is also present with the rest of the ensemble. Shraddha asks Rajkummar for assistance and then vanishes. Pankaj Tripathi then reads a letter.that that reveals Stree 2 will release in August 2024.
The film’s principle photography will begin later this year with Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi reprising their roles of Stree, Vicky, and Rudra respectively.
Stree, which was released in August 2018, is the first and most successful film in producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, which also comprises the films Roohi (2021), Bhediya (2022), and the upcoming Bhediya 2, which was also announced at the same event. Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik, grossed Rs. 130 crores at the box office and became the biggest grossing picture in this horror-comedy universe.
