Raj Kundra pornography case: Bombay High Court rejects anticipatory bail plea

Raj Kundra’s anticipatory bail has been rejected by the Bombay High Court on Thursday. This is in connection with an FIR registered against him for allegedly distributing pornographic videos.

In the same case, the businessman was sentenced to two months in prison. Currently, he is out on bail. The report also states that the detailed order is pending. The entrepreneur was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport with his wife and actress Shilpa Shetty.

Talking about the plea, The Mumbai Police’s cyber division has filed a complaint against Kundra for allegedly distributing/ transmitting sexually explicit movies under Sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and the Information Technology Act. Raj Kundra applied for anticipatory bail at the Sessions Court, but was denied, so he moved to the High Court. He claims that he was framed in the case in his application. Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey, two Bollywood actresses, were identified as co-accused in the FIR.

Raj has deactivated all of his social media accounts and is keeping a low profile since he came out of jail. He and Shilpa Shetty recently celebrated their wedding anniversary and went out for a romantic dinner date.

For unversed, Kundra was detained by Mumbai Police in July this year in connection with a case in which he was suspected of selling pornographic videos using an app. In September, he was granted bail.
