Raid 2 Teaser Review: Ajay Devgn Proclaims, “Main Poori Mahabharat Hoon” – Will It Outshine Singham Again’s Ramayana Hype?

It’s been seven years since Bollywood presented a unique story about an income tax officer, Amey Pattnaik. The narrative was intriguing enough that audiences overlooked the implausibility of portraying an income tax officer as a larger-than-life hero. Now, Ajay Devgn is back with Raid 2!
The teaser for the film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has been released, but it raises some questions. Unlike the original, which remains fresh in viewers’ minds, this teaser hasn’t quite captured the same excitement. While the antagonist has shifted from Saurabh Shukla to Riteish Deshmukh, Riteish manages to steal the spotlight with just one dialogue and his commanding presence. However, concerns linger regarding Ajay Devgn’s portrayal. In the teaser, Amey Pattnaik asserts, “Main Poori Mahabharat Hoon.”
While this line serves as a key hook, it ends up being one of the least impressive moments. There seems to be a disconnect, whether it’s the dialogue itself or the delivery. Last time, Ajay Devgn promised a Ramayana with Singham Again, and we all remember how that turned out. Now, he’s taking a gamble with a Mahabharata, and this could go either way.
Currently, the standout aspect of the teaser is Riteish Deshmukh, who shines in his role as the villain. There’s also a hint of anticipation surrounding Saurabh Shukla’s appearance, though it seems more like a tease than a prominent role in the film. The premise of Raid 2 is set: Amey Pattnaik returns for his 75th raid, targeting Riteish Deshmukh’s character, a powerful politician.
With the trailer yet to be released, we hope it offers a more compelling vision. As for Amey Pattnaik’s wife, now played by Vaani Kapoor, I can’t help but remember Ileana D’Cruz from the first film. As far as the film Raid 2 is concerned, it is directed by Rajkumar Gupta, while it is all set to hit theaters on May 1, 2025. Stay tuned for more only with us!
