About Pushpa 2

The sequel follows the success of the first installment, Pushpa: The Rise, released in 2021. In addition to Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the film features notable performances from Fahadh FaasilJagapathi BabuDhananjayaRao RameshSunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles.

Pushpa 2 Controversy

The film’s premiere was marred by tragedy when a 35-year-old woman died from asphyxiation during a stampede at the Sandhya Theatre. Following this incident, Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and placed in 14-day custody by a lower court in Telangana. His legal team successfully challenged this ruling in the Telangana High Court, which granted him interim bail after he provided a personal bond of ₹50,000.

Prominent filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma suggested that the arrest was a strategic move to generate a “big publicity boost” for Allu Arjun and enhance the film’s box office performance in its second week. He expressed his views on X, stating, “Regarding everybody’s SURPRISE SHOCK about why the Honourable Chief Minister of TELANGANA @revanth_anumala did this to @alluarjun, I think it is because he wanted to give a BIG PUBLICITY BOOST to the Telangana state’s FAVOURITE SON for a HUGE RISE in #Pushpa2 ‘s week 2 ‘s collections.”
