The actor was taken into custody at his home on Friday in connection with the tragic death of a fan during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. After being released on bail, Arjun was celebrated by fans and numerous members of the Telugu film industry at his residence in Hyderabad. However, this celebration has sparked backlash online, with many deeming it unnecessary and insensitive, especially with a minor victim of the incident still in critical condition.

Internet Backlash Against the Celebration

Allu Arjun returned home on Saturday morning after spending the night in jail. He was welcomed by an emotional reunion with his family, followed by a press conference and visits from several celebrities, including Venkatesh, Rana Daggubati, Sukumar, and Surekha. However, this outpouring of support from the industry has angered many on social media.

On X (formerly Twitter), users pointed out the irony of the situation, noting that those who criticized the Telangana government for Arjun’s arrest were now turning their ire towards him. One tweet stated, “Today’s non-stop celebrity visits and the publicity around it has tilted the scales in favor of Revanth Reddy. I am sure I am not the only one feeling that way. I like Allu Arjun, but today should have been a day of introspection, not celebration.”

Perception of a PR Stunt

Many fans echoed the sentiment that the celebrations appeared to be more of a public relations stunt. One user expressed frustration, stating, “The arrest was unfair, and now that Allu Arjun is back, what is all this tamasha of the entire Tollywood descending in his house and every moment being captured on camera? They are going overboard with this. It looks more like a PR stunt now, and they need to simmer down. “Others criticized Arjun for not visiting the family of the deceased woman, despite his promise to support them. One tweet lamented, “No one, not even Allu Arjun, visited the lady’s family. This is the real Elite vs Poor.
