Punjabi actor and social activist Deep Sidhu recently passed away in a car accident. According to the police, his car, Scorpio had rammed into a parked truck. Deep who was driving the car was declared dead at the Kharkhoda hospital, while a co-passenger has survived. The accident took place on the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway.
Announcing the sad demise of the actor, Sonipat SP Rahul Sharma said, “Deep Sidhu was travelling with actor and friend Reena Rai from Delhi to Bathinda. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead, while Reena Rai survived the accident and is out of danger.”
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit S Channi expressed his grief over the death of the social activist. “Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate demise of renowned actor and social activist, #DeepSidhu. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and fans.”
The actor turned activist was in the news for his involvement in the Republic Day farmers tractor rally in the national capital on 26th January which had turned violent and had curated a lot of havoc around the nation. Deep was arrested by Karnal in Haryana on 9th February 2021 for his involvement in the Red Fort farmers protest rally. Later in April, the actor was granted bail. The Delhi Police had filed a 3,224-page charge sheet against Deep Sidhu in May last year in connection with the tractor rally violence.
