Did You Know Alia Bhatt was the first choice for Shershaah & NOT Kiara Advani
2021 came with some amazing releases and one such film was Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’. The film was released on Amazon Prime Video and created new records of popularity. While Sidharth and Kiara were praised for their performance, it was Alia Bhatt who was the first choice for the role.
The picture earned a lot of love and appreciation from both the public and the critics. It was one of the year’s biggest hits. Sidharth portrayed Captain Vikram Batra, while Kiara portrayed his ladylove Dimple Cheema.
According to reports, Alia Bhatt was the initial option to play Dimple Cheema in Shershaah. The producers approached the actress for the part, but she declined due to her busy schedule and scheduling conflicts. However, it is important to note that there has been no formal confirmation of the same.
In fact, after the film’s release, the Raazi actress turned to social media to praise it.She wrote, “Must must must watch! This film has made me laugh and cry and everything more. Sidharth Malhotra, you were too special yaa! So, so moving. And Kiara Advani my beautiful, you really just shine right through. Congratulations to the whole team and entire cast. Such a lovely film.”
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi, which is set to be released in February of this year. She also played an important role in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, with Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The film was meant to be released last week, but it was pushed back owing to an increase of Covid-19 instances.
Several cinemas around the country were closed, forcing the creators of RRR to postpone the film’s release. Alia will also appear in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film is set to be released on September 9, 2022.
