Pooja Hegde, Not Sreeleela, Cast Opposite Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan’s Upcoming Romantic Comedy

Bollywood star Varun Dhawan is gearing up to collaborate once again with his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, for an upcoming romantic comedy. After speculation surrounding various leading ladies for the project, it has now been officially confirmed that Pooja Hegde will be starring opposite Varun in this film, tentatively titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Earlier reports had mentioned Sreeleela as a potential lead for her Hindi debut, but sources have clarified to Bollywood Hungama that Pooja will take the lead role, marking her first on-screen pairing with Varun. When asked about this exciting opportunity, Pooja teased that more updates are on the way, stating, “I’m exploring new roles. This year, I took a step back to reflect on my filmography and plan my next moves.”Starting in November, Varun has set aside time to focus on his father’s film. The second shooting schedule is slated to kick off on November 6 in Goa.
According to a report by Mid-Day, a source disclosed, “The second leg will begin in Goa on November 6. By that time, Varun will have completed his promotional commitments for the Prime Video series.”Following the Goa schedule, David Dhawan aims to conduct a month-long filming session in Mumbai. A set will be erected at Mehboob Studios, with shooting planned to continue until mid-December.
