S.S. Rajamouli comes in support of Chatrapathi team ahead of the film’s release

18 years ago S.S. Rajamouli introduced Prabhas as a bankable action star with his action drama ‘Chatrapathi. The film’s Hindi remake with the same title, directed by VV Vinayak, starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Bhagyashree is hitting screens this weekend on 12 May.

Ahead of the film’s release, India’s most popular and adored filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli  wished the makers and the cast for the endeavours in a new video, uploaded on the studio’s official Twitter handle. In a video he said, “Chatrapati is going to release on May 12. I am so happy because this is being brought to you by VV Vinayak Garu, one of the massiest directors of the Indian film industry. The story is so close to my heart and I am especially pleased since it is Vinay Garu who is helming the project.”

Rajamouli further added, “All the best to Jayantilal gada. I am sure he has put all his production muscle in this film, it requires that kind of support from him. Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda is already a big massy hero. The film suits his personality and his body language as well. I wish all the best to the team and watch it only in theatres on May 12.”

Chatrapathi also stars Sharad Kelkar,  Karan Singh Chhabra, Freddy Daruwala, Rajendra Gupta and Rajesh Sharma. The film is produced by Jayantilal Gada, Dhaval Gada and Akshay Gada.

The original 2005 Telugu movie of the same name starred Prabhas and Shriya Saran, Shafi, Bhanupriya, and Pradeep Rawat. The movie was directed and co-written by Rajamouli along with his father Vijayendra Prasad, who is known for his notable work in films like Baahubali series, RRR, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
