Two films released this passing Friday in B Town, which certainly included the sisters tale Pataakha and then the Yash Chopra movie Sui Dhaaga. Well, if you talk about Pataakha, it remained extremely slow and low at the box office for all the reasons known. It is the Vishal Bhardwaj film, that had to face the debacle of another film in the Hindi Cinema especially after his last film called Rangoon failed to prosper over the box office. The film though had a decent ratings but the way it has performed at the box office did had the same story to tell. Well, with decent starcast having actors like Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles, the film had a meager start.
The film however had a low business with collection crossing the 1 cr mark and similar was the story on the second and third day as well. As per experts and trade pundits, the film Patakhaa, had a very low buzz in the media, and this really kept the movie away from the people from the theaters. Otherwise, Vishal Bhardwaj is a competent man who is known to have made really good movies that have done well over the box office. Like his earlier movies, the content of this film too seemed different and so were the performances of the actors in the lead role. Yet the fate of the film was obvious and it went on to score very little remaining in the single digit only after the first weekend.
As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection went to around 5.25 crore, which is certainly not an impressive figure for sure. On the other side, the other film – Sui Dhaaga released on this day had much to offer crossing 30 crore mark on the third and during the first weekend collection. So, with little buzz in the media Pataakha met its own bad fate and would continue to score ounce by ounce in its first week till it finally vanishes from the theaters giving the makers not much to enjoy. So looking at the current state things are bad for the makers and continue for the same. One can expect the film to drown soon. Stay tuned to know more about it and others.
