The B Town has embarked upon with two movies this Friday, which include the war film Paltan and classic love story Laila Majnu. Well, let’s see how these two films have performed over the box office on their first day starting with the former. Well, Paltan is a JP Dutta film, which came with an ensemble star cast, while his name alone is a brand in himself that helped the makers to create a decent buzz around the movie ever since the trailer of the film was released. Thus it had a decent start yet not as much as it was expected by the makers since it is a war film.
The reviews were okay and it had several elements that could have helped the film to get a good start but still it can be called as decent in many ways. The film opened up with the occupancy of around 30 to 40 in the morning and afternoon shows, which went to become 80 to 90 per cent. It has done a decent business both at the single screens and the multiplexes. So, as per reports, the 1st day box office collection for Paltan reached to around 7.2 crore, which is still a decent figure to catch up. Let’s now, check the other film Laila Majnu at the moment.
The Ali brother’s film is based on the same old classic love story of Laila and Majnu, which we have been hearing since long. However, the film failed to attract the audience in a big way the makers were looking ahead. The film with new start cast could only get mixed reviews, which somewhere is unable to impress the audience and critics. Thus with a meager occupancy report in the morning shows, it did witness some escalation in the evening shows, yet it failed to pump the expected collection over the box office. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for Laila Majnu reached to around 4.5 crore, which is still not a bad figure to consider. However, during the weekend, the movie is supposed to escalate the collection, which can touch 20 crore for sure.
